WASHINGTON — Late Wednesday night, an American Airlines flight carrying 60 passengers collided midair with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter before crashing into the Potomac River in Washington, D.C.
American Airlines Flight 5342 departed from Wichita, Kansas, carrying U.S. figure skaters, their coaches, and family members returning from the National Development Camp, which was held in conjunction with the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Wichita.
